RED BLUFF, Calif. - Sierra Pacific Windows is launching a new architectural wall system product line in spring of 2016, following on the heels of its December 30, 2015, asset acquisition from Dallas, Oregon-based Westview Products, Inc.

The newly acquired high-end, architecturally-driven wall system line, also known as an engineered or structural wall system, is built with an extruded aluminum exterior and an all-wood interior. The wood interior distinguishes the line from competitive offerings, providing structural integrity and a unique aesthetic. This unique structural wall system can also accommodate operating Sierra Pacific windows for ventilation and greater design flexibility.

The new line will expand Sierra Pacific's single-source supplier niche, reinforcing its atature as a fully vertically-integrated wood window company.   "The wood wall system is a perfect complement to Sierra Pacific's product portfolio, and fits in nicely with our distribution channels," says VP business development Bob Taylor.

The growth potential of the wall system category, in particular, is significant, says Taylor.

"It's a niche market that's being dramatically fueled by current design trends: expansive glass, clean straight lines, transparency between indoor and outdoor living, and architecture showcasing minimalist design with walls of glass."

The line is highly customizable, and Sierra Pacific Windows works in close partnership with architects on this. Westview Products, Inc. was formed in the late 1970s by a group of professionals who had come together to create a sunroom system for a custom home being built in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. By the 1980s, Westview Products had grown to be a Northwest leader in the design and manufacturing of wall and slope glazing products systems.

Sierra Pacific Windows is a division of Sierra Pacific Industries, the third largest lumber producer and largest manufacturer of millwork in the United States, based in Anderson, California. With the purchase of Hurd and Superseal Windows and Doors in 2014, Sierra Pacific Windows became one of the largest manufacturers of superior quality, custom wood and vinyl windows and doors in the world.
