Delta Power Equipment completes spin-off from Stanley Black & Decker

ANDERSON, SC - TAIPEI, TAIWAN - Chang Type Industrial, Taiwan OEM producer of Ryobi, Craftsman, Black & Decker and Dewalt power tools sold at Sears, Home Depot and Lowe’s, has acquired Stanley Black & Decker's Delta Machinery unit. The deal closed on a deal Feb. 4.

The newly established Delta Power Machinery Corp. is an operating subsidiary of Chang Type Industrial, and will be based in Anderson, SC. The independent company spins off from Stanley's Delta Porter Cable unit, and will invest more than $3.6 million and hire 40

for its operation in Anderson. Headed by CEO Bryan Whiffen, Delta Power's amrketing manager is Alicia Hicks. Both held executive positions at Techtronic Industries N.A., Anderson, SC, which included Milwaukee and Ryobi power tools in its stable of brands.

Chang Type, established in 1989, was listed in the Taiwan Stock Exchange in 2003. Chang Type says at its website that it is dedicated to the R&D and manufacturing of power tools, including key components, motors and IC control boards, for miter saws, radial arm saws, band saws and scroll saws.

Chang Type says tools made in North America have been released to the Asia. In addition to its main product – miter saws - the company works with its OEM customers in new product development.
