Danish Unique Furniture acquires Jesper Office

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. -  Home office and small business furniture producer Jesper Office LLC has a new owner. The assets of the New Jersey-based firm have been acquired by Unique Furniture A/S based in Kolding, Denmark. Financial terms of the Aug. 28 acquisition were not disclosed.

Unique Furniture said the acquisition is part of its commitment to global expansion, and includes key personnel and intellectual property specific to Jesper Office’s brand and product set, which also includes modular library and home entertainment furniture.

"We are excited to acquire Jesper Office’s assets and operational platform and believe the strong product offering, along with the authenticity of the brand, fills an important need in the marketplace today,” said Flemming Lindtofte, Unique Furniture managing director. “We look forward to positioning the company for future growth under the dedicated team at Jesper Office with the experienced management team at Unique Furniture A/S.”

Unique Furniture said it will standardize Jesper Office's business practices while maintaining core corporate functions at the company's existing headquarters in Bridgewater, New Jersey. Jesper products, which are manufactured overseas, are sold through more than 200 authorized dealers, including furniture retailers, specialty office supply stores, contract furniture dealers and office superstores.

Unique Furniture's product portfolio includes residential furniture for the dining room, living room and bedroom, which is sold worldwide.The company has operations in China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam as well as representation in Great Britain and Germany.
