Summit Cabinet Coatings Cabinetry Refinishing FORT COLLINS, CO - Summit Cabinet Coatings says it has completed a major, commercial renovation of the health club lockerrooms at the Fort Collins Club that involved refinishing 630 doors, while remodeling and refacing cabinetry in men's and women's locker rooms over a three week period.

Summit Cabinet Coatings specializes in home kitchen remodel projects, in some cases refinishing at costs lower than refacing. But the health club project demonstrates they also do commercial work, such as apartment complexes and hotels.

"It's always a challenge going through renovations and changes," said a spokesman for the Fort Collins Club. "Summit Cabinet Coating did an outstanding job and completed our lockers in an efficient and productive manner, which allowed our Club to get back to business as usual."

Summit Cabinet Coatings performed the remodel on the men's and women's locker rooms in three weeks in August. Careful planning allowed them to spend time refacing cabinets in one locker bay per room per week, so locker rooms could stay open for most of the remodel proces, also bringing down cabinet refacing cost for Fort Collins Club.

Summit Cabinet Coatings says the doors in the locker room were in rough condition from years of hard use and contact with moisture, gym bags and padlocks. Dozens of large gouges were repaired and irregular grain was filled on every door to achieve a standard satin smooth finish. All 630 doors went through the same cabinet resurfacing process.

The Club did a trial run before commissioning Summit Cabinet Coatings and placed a sample resurfaced door in a high traffic area with padlocks beating against it for three months. The test was meant to prevent unnecessary cabinet refacing cost for the Fort Collins Club, should the resurfaced doors not be able to handle commercial wear and tear. The finish passed the test, says Summit.
