Premier EuroCase Homag laserTecSample panels are run on the Homag laserTec on Sept. 19. Premier EuroCase will begin using the laser edgebander on a new product line. DENVER – A Homag laser edgebander has been installed at Premier EuroCase, making it one of the first North American manufacturers to utilize this technology in a high-production environment.

Sample panels were run on Sept. 19, and the Homag laserTec is scheduled to be in full production this week. Andy Wilzoch, owner and president of Premier EuroCase, said the seamless edge produced by the laser edgebander gives the store fixture manufacturer a competitive edge plus opens opportunities in other markets. Wilzoch said he has already earmarked some of Premier EuroCase’s newest products for machining on the laserTec.

“Before purchasing a machine, I look at not only what it can do for me now, but also [the added capabilities] and opportunities it offers for us and for our customers,” Wilzoch said. From a promotional standpoint, he added, “We can now say we have the ‘perfect edge.’”

Premier EuroCase purchased the Homag laserTec from Stiles Machinery. A laser edgebander differs from standard machines in that a laser is used to activate a polymer layer on the edgebanding material. It provides a seamless looking edge, with a stronger bond and increased heat and moisture resistance. Premier EuroCase is using edgebanding material from Rehau.

Founded in 1987, Premier EuroCase produces store fixtures and casework for a range of clients, including Walgreens, Sports Authority and Famous Footwear. The company has approximately 117 employees at its 100,000 square foot manufacturing and 135,000 square foot assembly and warehouse facilities.

A vertically integrated company, Premier EuroCase has a sister firm, Roucke Inc., which specializes in the manufacture of thermofused melamine and high pressure laminated panels. Roucke was founded in 2004 and has six employees.
