RALEIGH, NC -Pergo, manufacturer of laminate flooring, has entered into a partnership with the Best Friends Animal Society to participate in the No More Homeless Pets marketing campaign.
Pergo kicked off its partnership by installing its laminate flooring at the new Best Friends Animal Society Pet Adoption and Spay/Neuter Services in Los Angeles. The accompanying video, "Pergo vs. Claws," shows how the floor faired when subjected to an assortment of rambunctious animals including dogs, cats, roosters, pigs and a pony. The video has generated nearly 185,000 views on Youtube.
In addition, Pergo is donating $1 to the Best Friends Animal Society for every fan who "likes" the video on its new Facebook page: facebook.com/pergo. Plans are in the works for additional national and local partnerships between Pergo and the society.
"Teaming with Best Friends is such a natural fit for us, as many laminate consumers are pet owners and animal lovers," said David Small, vice president of marketing for Pergo. "Not only is it a perfect venue to demonstrate the superior beauty, durability and performance of our products, but the partnership is a great enhancement to our 'Pergo the Dog' advertising identity and allows us to support a cause that is very important for our customers and employees, who strongly identify with Best Friends' mission."
Pergo is owned by Germany-based Pfeiderer, which is looking for a buyer of the Pergo North American manufacturing plant in Garner, NC.
