Completed just two weeks ago, approximately 100,000 Houzz.com users responded to the survey.

A few study highlights include:
69% of users are looking to redecorate
40% of users plan to remodel
8% of users plan to build a custom home

58% of users are seeking a general contractor
20% of users are seeking architects
35% of users are seeking designers

Within the next 2 years:
51% of users are planning to remodel their kitchen or bath cabinetry
12% of users are planning to remodel their closets

Within the next 6 months:
32% of users plan to purchase an organization system
35% of users are planning kitchen projects

Additional research highlights point to the fact that clients are starting the process much earlier. And, visuals, like the photos uploaded to Houzz.com by professionals, help clients communicate to them exactly what they are looking for in a remodel, even if they don't have the design vocabulary.

The full report is due out shortly.
