CWB 19th Design Portfolio Winners Showcased

Custom Woodworking Business Design Portfolio WinnersCWB 19th Annual Design Portfolio Winners are featured in the Best of the Best publication, along with other juried woodworking competitions from 2011, including CMA Wood Diamonds, Closets Top Shelf, and Veneer Tech Craftsman's Challenge. LINCOLNSHIRE, IL - Winners of the 19th annual Custom Woodworking Business Design Portfolio Awards were announced today at WoodworkingNetwork.com.

There were seven category winners with Zepsa Industries taking the top prize as Overall winner as well winner for the Architectural Millwork category. Its entry of “Grand Radius Stair and Monumental Yacht Interior” received one of the competition’s highest scores.

Additional category winners included:

Specialty — Charlebois et Fils for “Quebec Parliament Building Door”

Residential Furniture Built-in — Select Woodworking for “Einsteins Library”

Commercial/Institutional — Specialty Wood Manufacturing for “Polynesian Cultural Center”

Residential Furniture Freestanding — Langin Designs for “Dutch Renaissance Armoire”

Kitchen/Bath — The Torode Co. for “Ultimate Bungalow Kitchen”

Solid Surface — CNC Art Cut for “Kitchen”

Eight entries earned honorable mention:

Specialty (Tie) — MWB Studios for “Chinese Humidor” and Hostetler Custom Cabinetry for “King Neptune Door”

Residential Furniture Built-in — Select Woodworking for “Wine Room on a Street”

Commercial/Institution — Michael Singer Fine Woodworking for “Art/Jewelry Gallery Display Cabinets”

Architectural Millwork — OGB Architectural Millwork for “Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum”

Residential Furniture Freestanding (Tie) — The Century Guild for “Zebrawood Console” and Andrew Pitts Furnituremaker for “Sideboard Buffet”

Kitchen/Bath — Showplace Wood Products for “Timeless Grace”

A December 2011 special digital publication heralds the winners in a freshly designed digital edition, delivered electronically. Included will be details of production techniques, veneers, solid woods and materials and processes used by the winners.

This Best of the Best CWB Design Portfolio Digital Edition will also recap other 2011 juried woodworking awards from around the industry, including the Cabinet Makers Association Wood Diamond Awards, Veneer Tech Craftsman's Challenge, and CLOSETS Top Shelf Awards.
