Digital Cabinetry Print Technology In Most Viewed Reports

By Bill Esler | Posted: 03/28/2013 12:35PM

Custom Cupboards' colorful, textured cabinetry will be launched at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) next month in New Orleans.

But the Wichita-based custom cabinet maker's president, Mael Hernadez, already took his showcase on the road, sharing a preview with Woodworking Network at the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association annual convention in Tucson, AZ earlier this week.

The system allows images, colorations, and textured surfaces to be digitally imprinted, uniquely for each custom project, using a high-tech Fuji inkjet printer onto cabinet doors and panels. The durable, cured imprint is protected by a durable surface seal. Cabinets can blend into wall paper, or patterns and colors complementary to interior design elements can be imprinted.

Also topping the news, Masonite doors moved closer to a public offering. Following a series of acquisitions, Masonite's sales jumped 12 percent last year, and Masonite says the continued housing recovery will drive its business this year.
