Carlisle Wide Plank Flooring Expands Into China

click image to zoomWood flooring STODDARD, NH - Carlisle Wide Plank Floors says it will quadruple its retail outlets in the  fast-growing China market. The expansion calls for Carlisle to add six showrooms for a total eight by year-end. It currently has wood flooring showrooms in Wuxi and Nantong.

The new wood flooring showrooms will be located in high-end consumer markets throughout China including Liuzhou, Kunming, Wulumuqi, Chong Qing, Nanjing and Shenzhen.

Carlisle, which sells textured and rough-hewn flooring planks, measuring 5" to 22" inches wide, sees itself as a luxury goods retailer, a segment expectd to grow 18 percent annually in China, reaching $27billion by 2015. China is epected to surpass Japan as the second largest market for luxury goods.

“Our expansion allows us to increase our presence through strategic partnerships and cater to new consumers who desire luxury solid wood flooring products,” said Michael Stanek, Carlisle Wide Plank Floors CEO.

Based in Stoddard, NH, Carlisle Wide Plank Floors offers floors in pine, hardwood, reclaimed wood, engineered wood, prefinished flooring and hand-made surfaces.

China is opening up to a lot of foreign businesses, which means a lot of opportunity for companies looking to internationalize. They are hoping to bring in luxury goods that many countries like Japan, Europe and US have enjoyed for a long time now. That wide planked flooring is gorgeous, I don't blame them for coveting the look. Thanks for posting this!
