Cabinetry Plant Expanding in Louisville

Compass Manufacturing International exhbited its Surwood cabinets at KBIS 2012, along with plumbing hardware and vitreous fixtures from China. It is looking at expanding in Louisville, KY. LOUISVILLE, KY - Kitchen cabinets and bath vanities start-up Compass Manufacturing has received $150,000 from the Kentucky Economic Development Authority for to support a possible $2.9 million expansion of its operation.

Opened at the end of last year, Compass Manufacturing produces kitchen cabinetry and bath vanities, as well as plumbing fixtures for dealers around the U.S.

According to the Kentucky Economic Development Authoity, Compass plans to expand its facility and operations, adding 12 employees to its warehouse and sales staff, for a total 34. If the project is completely approved than nearly $2.9 million dollars will be invested for capital and building equipment. The preliminary approval adds up to approximately $150,000 dollars and it is over a 10 year time period.

"Compass is the industry's first internationally owned manufacturer and distributor of quality kitchen and bath products with a global distribution network located in the United States," says a website statement by the firm's president, Mike Wolfe, "uniting a first class group of manufacturing companies with an executive team boasting over 100 years of combined experience."

In a state filing reported by Business First Louisville, Compass manufacturing says it will renovate a 150,000-square-foot Louisville facility, which says the company would relocate its New York assembly operation to Louisville.
