SANTA ANA, CA — A restraining order has been filed by Custom Display Solutions against Advanced Mounting and Design Inc. to protect CDS’ trade secrets. The order, filed late May in Orange County Superior Court, prohibits AMD from using proprietary information obtained from former CDS employees, including: customer lists, CAD drawings, manufacturing information, proposals and any SolidWorks license registered to CDS.

According to information from attorney Russell J. Thomas Jr., CDS is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

Founded in 2000, CDS manufactures custom displays and multi-media furniture. Products include: interactive display units, enclosures, lecterns, credenzas, cube pedestals and display mounting systems for audio visual.

According to a PR Web release, it was in late 2011 that CDS President and CEO John Higgins discovered “at least four former employees of CDS had taken their employer’s confidential trade secrets and used that protected information in violation of executed company non-disclosure agreements.”

The restraining order on the intellectual property also claims that the former employees manufactured and marketed the designs to CDS’ “confidential” clientele, while doing business under the AMD name.

Founded in 2011, AMD manufactures and design audio-visual mounting equipment including: projector mounts, video wall applications, environmental enclosures as well as cube pedestals. The company is based in Santa Ana, CA.
