DEERFIELD, IL  - Fortune Brands, Inc. (NYSE: FO) says it will spin off  MasterBrand Cabinets, Simonton Windows, Tru Temp Doors and other related properties as the Fortune Brands Home & Security business after the close of business on October 3, 2011.

The changeover will bring to a close a transition that has been months in the making, and will result in an independently structured business encompassing iconic brands in the cabinetry manufacturing field, including Aristokraft, Diamond, kemper and Schrock.

Greg Stoner maintains his position as president, MasterBrand Cabinets; Mark Savan is president, Simonton Windows. Lee Wyatt was named CFO and Senior VP of Fortune Brands Home & Security, the umbrella group under which MasterBrand Cabinets and Simonton Windows will operate. Wyatt was most recently executive VP and CFO at HanesBrands.
