EDISON, NJ – LIGNA Hannover 2013, the world’s largest woodworking event, will be the subject of a special free presentation Friday, March 1 at the Cabinets & Closets Expo in Edison.

Katherine León Childress of Hannover Fairs USA, will serve up a sneak peek of LIGNA, scheduled for May 6-10 in Hannover, Germany. Her presentation will include an overview of the massive fair that in 2011 attracted more than 90,000 attendees from 90 countries to see the latest woodworking machinery and technology displayed by 1,700 companies representing 50 countries.

In addition to being the leading incubator of new woodworking technology, LIGNA focuses on global mega trends such as sustainable, intelligent production; highly customizable manufacturing systems; and flexibility-enhancing industrial solutions. What’s more, LIGNA is a hotbed of innovation for surface technology, lightweight panel construction and bio-energy systems.

Childress’ presentation will include:

• Who attends and why;

• Special programs planned for this year’s show designed to bring buyers and sellers of woodworking equipment, tooling and accessories together;

• Plus, a report on the European woodworking machinery industry and other global markets, including how they have evolved in the last decade.
