2014 Cabinet & Closet Conference & Expo Takes ShapeThe Cabinets & Closets Conference & Expo returns to New Jersey by popular demand. The event, which attracted more than 1,000 custom cabinet, closet and woodworking professionals last year, is moving 15 minutes south from Edison, NJ, to Somerset, NJ, to utilize the more spacious Garden State Convention Center to facilitate anticipated growth of the exhibition.

At press time, Custom Woodworking Business and Closets magazines were working with their partners, the Cabinet Makers Association (CMA) and Association of Closet and Storage Professionals (ACSP), to finalize details for the Cabinets & Closets Conference to be held Wednesday, April 9 at the Hotel Somerset-Bridgewater. Both programs will feature management-level educational sessions geared toward helping attendees capitalize on the resurging housing market and economy.

The CMA will present an updated, half-day session of its popular Costing & Pricing seminar. The session will be led by Sean Benetin, owner of Millwork & More, who over the years has earned high ratings from among the hundreds of woodworking professionals that have attended his course.

The CMA will also organize several technical and marketing sessions to be held during the Cabinets & Closets Expo, April 10-11.

In addition to crafting a dynamic Closets Conference program to run in tandem with the Cabinet Conference, the ACSP is working on “Designer Day,” a day full of education and product demonstrations especially for closet and storage design professionals. Also on the ACSP’s docket is a bus tour event to a local closet or cabinet shop.

The Cabinets & Closets Expo will feature a wide variety of products ranging from woodworking machinery and CAD/CAM software through hardware, closet and garage systems and components. Both days of the expo will also feature live product demonstrations at individual exhibitor’s booths and at the Expo Demonstration Stage.

DC Distributing, a supplier of edgebanding materials and adhesives, exhibited at the 2013 Cabinets & Closets Expo and was the first to sign up to exhibit at this year’s show. “We have decided to return due to the success we had seen from exhibiting at the show last year,” said Dwayne Shultz, VP of DC Distributing.

Debra Berhing, president of JB Cutting, a manufacturer of value-added themal-fused laminate panels, said she is “thrilled to be exhibiting in 2014” following a successful showing in Edison last year.
