New wood and flooring inks include both conventional and digital versions

PARSIPPANY, N.J. –  Sun Chemical will introduce its full range of water-based wood and luxury vinyl inks to the North American wood flooring market during the 2016 International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta, Ga. on August 24-27. 
 
“Our customers in the wood and luxury vinyl flooring market need inks that are durable, colorful, and easy to maintain,” said Charles Murray, President of North American Inks at Sun Chemical. Murray notes Sun Chemical has 40 years of experience in the market to meet requirements on a wide variety of wood flooring applications, including laminate vinyl and pre-impregnated decor papers, plastic, and direct digital printing on rigid materials such as engineered wood panel.

Interprint adds digital printing press for laminate papers

Managers at IWF have been expanding their exposure for digital printing technologies to keep pace with the wood manufacturing industries' adoption of the technology. Use by solid surface companies like Formica and Wilsonart to product short-run laminate panel, digital printing technologies have also been adopted by Schattdecor and Interprint for laminate decor paper production. 

Ron Gilboa of InfoTrends will present overview sessions at IWF 2016, including a Primer for Inkjet Printing on Aug. 24 9:00 - 10:30 a.m.; and Digitally Printed Surfaces: Real Samples August 24 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.

These water-based inks feature zero VOC’s and offer excellent printability, resolubility, scratch resistance, high bond strength, and a wide variety of color options to choose from.
