Designers and woodworkers alike are expected to hit Atlanta in droves this summer. Of interest to closet pros will be everything from hardware, finishes and laminate panels to CNC machining centers, boring machines and edgebanders and wholesale closet organizing systems. The International Woodworking Fair 2014, the largest wood industry show in North America, is taking place Aug. 20-23 at the Georgia World Congress Center
The Association of Closet and Storage Professionals (ASCP) also will have a visible presence at this year’s event with a special presentation for woodworkers on the opportunities available in closet and home organization design and manufacturing. An all-day seminar titled “Closets? A Great Opportunity to Profit” will be held on Aug. 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., a day before the show opens to the public.
During the seminar, Dave Skinner, ACSP president, will explain the ins-and-outs of closet design and how cabinetmakers can develop a strategy to boost profits. The seminar, sponsored by Holz-Her, will also offer attendees hands-on demonstrations of assembly, construction techniques and design.
