Cabinet Lights: LED Upgrades

Resource-conserving LED lighting will highlight Interzum 2013, May 13 - 16 in Cologne, Germany, and NeoCon, a contract furniture show in Chicago in June that touches on home offices and hardware. Cool running LED is becoming a general standard in home storage, perfect for ambient lighting and orientation in dark spaces. Exhibitors will illuminate the latest in LED at these shows.

With the emergence of blending the kitchen and living room areas into an open plan layout, LED lighting is in style. Watch for task lighting innovations by Doug Mockett at NeoCon 2013, with residential possibilities in addition to the office.

Gera Leuchten will display its high-end lighting systems and lamps at Interzum. “The increasing fusion of kitchen and living space layouts results in new business areas for supplier companies,” said Hening Politz, managing director.

Also at Interzum, Hafele will launch the second generation of its Loox LED lighting system with new lamps, power supplies and a wide range of accessories. “Our Interzum booth will be a display case of our international expertise and a source of ideas for everyone,” says managing director Sibylle Thierer.

Hettich, which offers task, orientation and ambient LED lighting products, will be exhibiting at Interzum as well. Rev-a-Shelf, which acquired Tresco LED lighting, in 2011, now becomes a player in European hardware with its recent acquisition of Austria’s Widmer, a cabinet storage maker, which will be at Interzum as well.
