TAMARAC, Fla. - City Furniture, which operates as Ashley Furniture at 11 locations, has implemented a HighJump warehouse management system  at its main distribution center in Tamarac, Fla.

The largest retailer in South Florida, City Furniture has 26 stores – 15 retail showrooms operate under its brand, the rest as Ashley Furniture HomeStore. The company also supports a growing online business.

City Furniture delivers its products across South Florida with its own fleet of trucks, running up to 60 routes every day of the week. The company offers same-day delivery seven days a week, which requires unique operational protocol. Its legacy warehouse management system could not be upgraded.

“The timeline, budget and feature expectations we set were all met by HighJump during the implementation process,” says City Furniture CFO Steve Wilder. “There is no room for error since we offer same-day delivery."

Wilder says the adaptable nature of HighJump’s platform allowed City Furniture to tailor its warehouse management system to match the processes that have historically worked for it. "The HighJump implementation team helped us evaluate and apply enhancements that have already improved our efficiency in the warehouse.”

City Furniture is actively working to open three more showrooms – one of which will have an attached satellite distribution center – in the Orlando market within the next two years with plans to expand into the Tampa area in the next few years. Its distribution centers will rely on HighJump Warehouse Advantage to support City Furniture’s reputation for excellent customer service, high quality products and outstanding value at those new locations. In addition, the system has the scalability to facilitate continued growth.

“We feel honored to have been selected by City Furniture,” said Chad Collins,  COO at HighJump. “Leading furniture companies, including Ashley Furniture Industries, have been a crucial piece of HighJump’s client portfolio."
