The Wood Industry Conference, run jointly by the WMIA and WMMA, gathers in Mexico April 12-15.

Several hundred suppliers will gather for the event, which consists of annual board meetings, elections, committee meetings, and two nmajor awards prorgams:

Every year WMIA honors excellence among woodworking companies by presenting the annual Wooden Globe Awards. WMIA members nominate their customers, and awards are presented in three categories: Innovator, Educator, and Commitment to Excellence through Technology. In addition, distributor members present the Partner of the Year award to a woodworking machinery supplier who best exemplifies the spirit of partnership.

The WMMA members bestow the prestigious Baldwin Award each year at WIC. Named for Ralph B. Baldwin, longtime member, the award will be presented to an individual in the woodworking industry who has exemplified the kind of commitment which makes an association function at, or near, its peak potential and is a contributor to his company’s success and the community of which he/she is a part.

The Woodworking Machinery Industry Association (WMIA) and the Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America (WMMA) represent different segments of the wood industry supplier community. For over 30 years, WMIA and WMMA have jointly sponsored the Woodworking Industry Conference (WIC).
