HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — In a new contest, office and school furniture manufacturer and distributor OFM is encouraging office workers around the country to share the oldest item in their office.

“Just like at home, the stuff in your office tends to accumulate,” said Blake Zalcberg, chief operating officer of OFM. “It could be an old piece of equipment that no one uses anymore, or it could be just something that’s endured the times. We’re always looking to the future of the workplace, but sometimes it’s fun to stop and look at the past.”

The contest runs through May 31 on Instagram. To enter, OFM is asking participants to take a photo of the oldest item in their office and upload it to Instagram with a brief description and to include “#myofficethrowback @ofminc” in the caption. OFM will then select one winner in each of three categories: 1) Oldest; 2) Most Unusual, and; 3) Best All-Around Photo. Winners will each receive two modular stools from OFM’s Jupiter, Hex or Quin series in the color of their choice.

Previous OFM contests have asked office workers to display how their desk reflects their personality, show the creative ways they keep coworkers from stealing their stapler, share the doodles they draw in long meetings and explain why they deserve an “office makeover.”

“We’re really looking forward to seeing the fun items people have around their office,” added Zalcberg. “It will be interesting to see the things that have stuck around over the years reminding you of how things used to be.”
