HIGH POINT, NC – Furniture with nailhead trim is enjoying a sudden surge in popularity, says the American Home Furnishings Alliance.

The classic accent, no longer limited to leather or upholstery, is now appearing in places where it’s seldom seen – like wood furniture.

At the most recent home furnishings market in High Point, NC, nailhead trim had migrated from sofas, chairs and chaises to consoles, chests, and buffets, says AHFA.

 It is also used in patterns rather than straight lines, it becomes a textural element to accessorize a traditional table, chest or console.

“The industry’s top designers have embraced this as the new ‘on-trend’ embellishment,” says Jackie Hirschhaut, VP at American Home Furnishings Alliance.

Hooker Furniture employed nailhead trim in consoles and chests to outline curves and add  embroidery-inspired patterns.

Nailhead trim detailing also appears on Hickory Chair's Muse cabinet, and on Magnussen Home’s new high-style Onyx bedroom collection with crocodile-embossed leather and chrome-plated nickel nailheads.

And HGTV HOME Furniture collection collaboration with Bassett furniture features a Mum table shimmering with nailhead. And nailhead trim outlined  Taylor King’s new “classically transitional” sofas and chairs this fall.
