Custom frameless and framed style cabinetry manufacturer Canyon Creek Cabinet Company, located in Monroe, WA, is continuing on its path towards quality improvement and lean operations. The company recently purchased and installed a brand-new, fully automated Arcus Series edgebanding machine from Holz-Her.

The edgebander measures 22-1/2 feet long by nearly 4 feet wide and can apply edge tapes from 1mm to 3mm thickness. The new bander can run at 18 meter/minute as compared to the 10 –14m/min that is standard in the industry, and has boosted productivity and accuracy. The edgebander is also equipped with a return, features software-based controllers for a quick and automated set up, and can easily make adjustments according to product specifications.

The company recently gave its employees a training session on the new edgebander as well, covering programming, maintenance and other aspects of the machine.

Canyon Creek markets its cabinetry to designers, builders and a select network of dealers, and has been recognized in the kitchen and bath industry since 1981. The company has won many industry awards for its cabinetry and environmental practices, including the 2010 Green Manufacturing, 2011 Manufacturer of the Year, and the 2012 Better Workplace Safety Awards from the Association of Washington Business (AWB).

The company is also ISO 9001 quality assurance certified and has additional certifications from Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association, KCMA's ESP Environmental Program, CPA's Environmentally Preferred Product (EPP) Downstream Program, Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties' Built Green program, EPA's Evergreen Award, and more.
