Woodworking Network previewed a number of its wood industry awards programs during the 2014 International Woodworking Fair, held Aug. 20-23 in Atlanta, GA.

First up after IWF was the inaugural launch of Young Woodworking Professionals Week (#YWPweek), which celebrated the Young Wood Pros who help keep the industry ticking. The week culminated with the selection of a Young Woodworking Professional of the Year, powered by fan voting.

Next was WOOD 100 – winners were published in the September edition of Wood Products. In its 25th consecutive year, the WOOD 100 honors the fastest growing wood manufacturing firms in seven categories.

In November Woodworking Network will highlight Wood Industry Market Leaders — individuals who have made an impact, not only at their own woodworking firm, but also within their market segments. Nominations, the nominee’s contact information, along with the nominator’s name and contact information should be sent to Karen Koenig at [email protected] or WoodworkingNetwork.com/marketleaders. Those selected will be featured in the November issue.

Custom Woodworking Design Portfolio Awards are given annually to honor custom woodworkers for their outstanding craftsmanship. And Top Shelf Closets Design Awards are given annually to honor designers for their creative closet and home organizational designs.

Both contests will open for entries Dec. 15, 2014 to Feb. 28, 2015, with a fee of $45 per entry. Details at WoodworkingNetwork.com/awards. All award program winners will be recognized during the Cabinets & Closets Expo Gala Reception on April 15, 2015.
