ST. PAUL, Minn. -  USI, a national construction services provider of installed insulation and related services to builders, contractors and homeowners, acquired IDS Specialty Building Products, a Savannah, Georgia, market-based full line insulation and specialty services contractor providing cabinetry, closet shelving, garage doors, insulation, shower enclosures, mirrors, and other specialty items to the residential and commercial new construction markets, as well as to the existing homeowners and remodelers throughout South Carolina and Georgia.

"We are excited to partner with Chris Mahaffey, IDS founder, as well as his entire team in growing USI's presence further in the Southeast," said Bill Varner, president and CEO of USI. "USI's expansion into Georgia and South Carolina confirms our commitment to expand in strategically important markets by selectively targeting businesses with a strong local presence, a strong management team and an outstanding ability to meet customer's needs.  We look forward to adding IDS to our industry-leading operating platform."

The acquisition provides USI with an enhanced operational footprint in the Southeastern region of the United States.
