What kind of shoe closet would an interior designer create for herself? Perhaps a museum-quality piece like the $20,000 two-story, illuminated display case designed by Paige Hill, owner of Ultra-Mod Home Concepts, an interior design firm.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Hill worked with architect Chris Brandon on the design of the 17-feet tall by 8-feet wide shoe cubby. Built in 2013 for her Newport Beach, California home, the storage system holds 75 pairs of shoes in 19 cubbies, which can be reached by a sliding library ladder.

On the company's website, Ultra-Mod Home Concepts says it works with new construction clients from the beginning to the end of their build as well as with architects to help create the footprint, cabinet configurations, kitchen designs and furniture layouts. The company also assists in developing architectural features, interior finishes and more.
