Unstable Wood Step Stools RecalledWASHINGTON -- Ballard Design Inc. of Atlanta, GA, issued a recall for approximately 2,500 Stafford wooden step stools that have been tied to six incidents of instability, including two resulting in minor injuries.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the plastic tabs on the feet of the step stools cause the stools to be unstable. This poses a fall hazard to consumers.

The recalled Ballard Design step stools were manufactured in China and sold for about $80 at Ballard Design stores in Florida, Georgia and Ohio, plus through the company's catalogs and website.
