JEFFERSONVILLE, IN -- Olon Industries Inc. announced plans to expand and move its profile wrapped wood components operations to a 100,000-square-foot facility in Jeffersonville.

Olon, based in Georgetown, ON, Canada, manufactures profile wrapped mouldings for use in kitchen and bath cabinets, office furniture, store fixtures and architectural/hospitality industries.

Olon acquired the Jeffersonville plant from Creative Products Inc. in December 2008. In looking to expand the operation, the company reportedly considered several potential U.S. locations. Officials with One Southern Indiana, the State of Indiana and the City of Jeffersonville worked closely with company representatives to find an appropriate location in Jeffersonville, which would allow all 30 current employees to preserve their jobs with the company. The groups also worked together to develop property tax incentives, including offering Olon an amount equal to the lesser of nine percent of the company's qualified investment made on or before December 31, 2013, or $35,000 under the state's Hoosier Business Investment Tax Credit program.

Olon Industries' Jeffersonville expansion plans include plant improvements, adding new equipment and creating 11 new jobs by 2014.
