OAK BROOK, IL – Elkay Cabinet Group won top honors from the Bath & Kitchen Buying Group, which named Elkay 2012 Vendor of the Year last month in Chicago.

Elkay Cabinet Group, the fifth recipient of this award, was selected based on nine different criteria. The selection committee narrows the list to three finalists, and a majority vote determines the single winner.

“The Vendor of the Year award is the highest honor that we as an organization give to a preferred vendor,” says Eddie Schukar, executive director and VP vendor relations for BKBG.

Elkay Cabinet Group is a unit of Elkay Manufacturing, a 92-year-old privately held plumbing fixture supplier that in 1993 acquired several cabinet companies, including Yorktowne Cabinetry.

Today the Elkay Cabinet Group brands include American Cabinetry Collection, Design-Craft Cabinets, InnerMost Cabinets, MasterCraft Cabinets, Medallion Cabinetry, Medallion Cabinetry at Menards, Schuler Cabinetry and Woodbridge Cabinetry. Medallion Cabinetry was the winner of the 2012 Best of Houzz award.

The BKBG include 175 cabinet design, sales and installation companies who have group buying agreements with dozens of cabinetry industry vendors and suppliers, including hardware and cabintry makers.
