Printed Swatches for Cabinets, Countertops and Flooring  ST. LOUIS – MEGA Swatch, a firm that simulates solid wood cabinetry, hardwood flooring and countertops with larger-sized samples of various product finishes, is adding 30 new granite countertop colors to its existing inventory of 36 color selections. Manufactured using a proprietary print reproduction process, the highly realistic, 20” x 27” swatches are suited for client remodeling proposals. The patent-pending process generates samples directly from scans of actual materials. MEGA Swatch says that 4,000 granite and marble countertop distributors nationwide are now offering its swatches directly to their customers.

Developer Dave Bender contends that the large format reproductions of granite countertops provide a better basis for comparison than typical 3” square samples used by kitchen and bathroom remodelers.

“Big granite samples are a luxury that would normally come with a huge price tag,” Bender says. MEGA Swatch is offering large samples of granite and marble countertops, hardwood flooring and cabinet colors for the budget-minded consumer and the interior designer, he notes, adding that the sample swatches can also be purchased in multiples to give an even better idea of the results.

With samples that are as large as 2’ x 3’ in size, selecting colors and finishes can be fun instead of stressful, Bender says. The extra-large granite swatches make it easy to get an accurate idea of what the colors and finishes actually will look like inside homes. Paper samples, meanwhile, sell for $2.99 and are big enough to cover the entire area to be remodeled and provide a realistic glimpse of how the finished project will look.
