TAYLOR, MI — Cabinet and building products giant Masco Corp. announced plans to relocate its corporate headquarters by the end of 2016. The company will move from its location in Taylor, MI, to a new 75,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility in neighboring Livonia.

The news comes just days after the company released its second quarter findings of 3% overall net sales growth — 7% in North America — to $1.9 billion. Sales were spurred by a 6% jump in Cabinets and Related Products, driven by KraftMaid Cabinetry’s sales growth with home centers and dealers. Decorative Architectural Products’ net sales increased 4%, driven by new products and the pro paint initiative while Other Specialty Products’ net sales increased 8%, led by a strong performance from Milgard Windows.

In addition to KraftMaid, other cabinet-related brands offered by Masco include Merillat, QualityCabinets and DeNova countertops. Masco also offers HotSpring spas, Behr paint, and Delta and Hansgrohe faucets, bath and shower fixtures.

“Masco has delivered a strong first half of the year and we are proud of our focus and execution,” said Masco CEO and President Keith Allman of the company's performance. “With the completion of the spin-off of TopBuild Corp., we begin a new chapter in Masco’s history focused on driving shareholder value through our portfolio of industry-leading branded building products, operational excellence and disciplined capital allocation. Our Cabinetry business has returned to profitability and we expect the momentum it has built over the first half of the year to continue. For the balance of 2015, we believe the underlying demand for our market-leading products will increase and that the repair and remodeling environment will continue to improve. We believe we are positioned to capitalize on these opportunities."

Masco In a separate statement Allman noted the move to the new facility "will provide a more collaborative, functional space and is an important step forward for us. Over the past several years, we have better aligned our corporate center services with the requirements of our overall business and our individual business units. As a result, our corporate office is now too large and segmented for our leaner workforce.”

Built in 1966, Masco’s current headquarters has over 400,000 square feet of office space. The company said the Masco Research and Development Center will remain at its current location, also in Taylor, MI.
