HOUSTON - Following successful multi-unit cabinetry projects in Florida, cabinetry and architectural woodwork firm Italkraft Mid Altantic Llc is opening a Houston office to supply two projects under construction there. The operation is expected to open in the fall.

Raul J. Gutierrez and Alex Xakoustis founded Italkraft, based in Doral, FL, in 2011, providing design and installation for European-style cabinets manufactured for it in Italy. The 150-employee cabinet and architectural millwork company had sales of $20 million last year; Gutierrez told the South Florida Business Journal he expects sales of  $28 million this year for turnkey cabinetry projects Italkraft is doing for condo and apartment builders - its largest clientele - and single-unit clients.

Shipping the Italian manufactured cabinetry and vanities flat packed, Italkraft sends in crews of 8 to 10 installers to work on projects.

"We provide our customers with Italian Design kitchen, bathroom and closet cabinetry of the highest standard and style. . . being hands-on every step of the way from design consultation, to shop drawing provision, to installation," the company says.

Italkraft product quality is verified through certification to ISO 9001:1994 standards defined by the JIS regulation and are recognized and adhered to by the use of materials with extremely low formaldehyde emissions.
