WICHITA, KS - IceClean Systems says it has acquired all of CryoKinetics abrasive belt cleaning technologies and licenses, and used them in the development of its new abrasive cleaning equipment for both on-sander and off-sander applications.

Raymond Friend, president of IceClean systems, says the award winning technology will return to AWFS Fair 2015 in Booth #10056. When shown previously at the woodworking fair, the technology won the Sequoia Award for Leadership in Environmental Innovation, and in 2013, three of the four Visionary awards - Safety, Innovative Technology, and Ergonomics.

“We acquired CryoKinetics’ Abrasive Belt Cleaning technology and licenses, and made considerable advancements in technology to increase its effectiveness and industrial durability, at a lower price point,” says Friend.

IceClean Systems now offers a PLC controlled sanding belt cleaning system, called IceClean-On, that is installed on sanders and uses a patented process incorporating dry ice particles and/or other mixed media (for thata part of the process patents are pending) to remove the wood dust buildup from both paper and cloth–backed sanding belts.

IceClean-On increases hardwood sanding life for the belts by up to eight times, Froiend says, improves sanding quality, reduces sanding rejects and reworks, and increases production up-time.

The new systems can be installed on all sanders (wide-belt, narrow belt, bag, and edge sanders) and can reduce costs to increase profits for panel products, flooring, cabinets, furniture, and all other kinds of wood products and sanded coatings.

IceClean-On is an automatic system, but in many cases a manual version system can be used, providing more economical approach that is effective for smaller producers.

For off-sander abrasive belt cleaning, IceClean Systems offers “IceClean-Off,” a PLC-controlled sanding belt cleaning cabinet that cleans combinations of common-sized sanding belts.
