Woodworking Award Redesign: CWB Design Portfolio
145_plaque_fv.jpg

It is not often that Custom Woodworking Business (CWB) gets to contract with a custom woodworker on a project, but we would like to offer a special thank you to Irvine, CA-based Laguna Tools, which facilitated the manufacture of our Design Portfolio plaques with Blue Ribbon Trophy LaserWerks, located in Orange, CA.

CWB graphic designer Chris Nititham came up with a brand new look for the award plaques, which significantly featured the contest logo in a large engraved area. The solid wood plaques were executed exactly as he had envisioned and all were quite pleased with the results. We hope that our category winners were as well.

The 19th Design Portfolio Awards competition is currently in the works, with a few changes to the categories, contest websites, deadlines and submission process, so look for more information in our upcoming print issues, eNewsletter, as well as on WoodworkingNetwork.com.

It is always amazing to see the skill involved in these custom projects with their complex designs and expert craftsmanship. These entries show the enormous talent, creativity and ingenuity of custom woodworkers.

To view the work of winners from our 18th annual awards, visit WoodworkingNetwork.com/awards, or to view all of the entries in last year’s contest, visit WoodworkingNetwork.com/designportfolio and click on the view entries tab.
