Wood Products Debuts Include Battery LED Light

click image to zoom Outwater Plastics introduced a battery operated LED lighting system for use in existing cabinets, drawers, closets or extremely tight applications in which electrical outlets are not readily accessible or cannot be readily installed because of confined space limitations.

It can be surface mounted with peel and stick tape, screws or available magnets without  knowledge of electronics, making it useful for retrofitting and remodeling. The low voltage power source requires no electrician and poses no risk of shock.

When closets, cabinet drawers or doors are opened, a plunger switch (like a refrigerator's) its provides 90 seconds of warm white (3000k) or natural white (4000k) illumination before turning off; or for continuous lighting, the 90 second timer can be manually turned off.

Similar in illumination to a 20 watt halogen bulb, the dimmable battery operated LED lighting system is ultra energy efficient, with an approximate 50,000 hour bulb life. Powered using just D batteries, which should last for approximately 1-1/2 to 2 years under normal use, says Outwater, it can also be powered by a plug in transformer.
