The opening plenary for Greenbuild 2009 featured speeches by Dave Kohler, president and COO of Kohler; Rick Fredrizzi, president and CEO of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC); GBC heads from 11 countries; and Al Gore, former vice president of the United States. Sheryl Crow also performed.

Al Gore, former vice president, said that our climate, economy and  security are linked by our dependence on carbon-based fuels.
