Andersen  windows, doors specified in Branson, MO, projectBRANSON, MO - Andersen says its 400 series windows and doors have been specified for the Pensmore residential complex, featuring advanced energy efficient technologies. Now under construction near Branson, MO, the project uses proprietary concrete construction built by a master carpenter and woodworker, Kurt Caylor.

Pensmore is designed to apply new construction technologies aimed at energy efficiency. The building showcases a variety of cost-effective, durable, green building techniques and materials, including the Andersen windows and doors.

Not far from Joplin, MO, which was devastated by severe storms earlier this year, the residence will feature Andersen storm-resistant fenestration. 

Pensmore is a large residential chateau under construction in the Ozark mountains between Springfield and Branson, MO. It also represents a practical application of new technologies that its develops say brings to life a modern version of the Jeffersonian ideal of the self-sufficient sustainable estate.

Andersen  windows, doors specified in Branson, MO, projectPensmore’s heating system utilizes newly-developed technologies enable it to store millions of BTUs of thermal energy while the sun shines, slowly releasing this "green" heat back into the interior at night and during cloudy days.

Secondary sources of heat include combustion of wood products grown on the estate (net carbon neutral) and "conventional" geothermal systems.

Two key construction managers include Kurt Caylor, main lead for poured TransForm Walls, and Joe Huff of Huff Construction. Caylor brings specialized carpentry skills to the project. Chief of Caylor Construction Inc., Kurt Caylor works on Pensmore’s concrete walls using the TransForm system. Caylor's professional background includes carpentry, and general contracting. In the early 90s, Caylor worked for Carver Yachts. An experienced carpenter, he began working for the TF Concrete Forming Systems in  in 1995.

Joe Huff, project manager, Huff Construction, Inc., handles the day to day operations of Pensmore as project manager. In addition to selecting and overseeing contractors, his responsibilities include materials research, sourcing, bidding and logistics with the aim of moving the building process along in a seamless manner.
