A fire that occurred on December 20th destroyed part of the Catas headquarters, but now, testing and certification activities in the laboratory for furniture testing are now at full operation.

In late December, one of the labs of Catas, the Italian research and testing laboratory for the wood and furniture industry in San Giovanni al Natisone, was destroyed in a fire.

UL has acquired Advanced Furniture Testing, a privately held firm that provides performance and durability furniture testing services to many of the largest North American commercial furniture manufacturers.

UL and Advanced Furniture Testing have signed an agreement to provide performance and durability testing for furniture in Advanced Furniture Testing's Holland, Mich. facility.
