Textile Surfaces Decorative Laminates

Founded in 1946 as a manufacturer of high-pressure laminates, Lamin-Art Inc., a privately held company located in Schaumburg, IL, has introduced 16 new tactile decorative surfaces for interior design. With eye-catching designs representing elements of nature from natural hues and finishes to the organic materials embedded in the panels, these new laminates appeal to at least two of the five senses: sight and touch.

Lamin-Art’s new tactile decorative surfaces can be used in a number of commercial settings including: hotels, casinos, clubhouses, restaurants, hospitals and clinics, office buildings, retail stores and shopping malls and furniture. As for residential, given the interior design direction of a home, one could envision these surfaces on an accent wall, specialty cabinets as well as residential furniture.

These textile decorative surfaces are available in the following collections: Burlap, Abacá, Veneer-Art and Abstracts.

Burlap: The collection features burlap made from 100 percent jute textile, a recyclable and biodegradable fiber. The surface is manufactured by laminating a sheet of real burlap cloth between a melamine overlay and phenolic resin-impregnated kraft paper. It is available in two colors: bleached and natural.

Abacá: This popular line is available in three colors: Muslin, Slate and Bali. Features include banana fibers from Central and South America.
Veneer-Art: Real wood veneers highlight this collection, which features a new Rift-Grain finish. It is available in five species including White ash, European ash, Brown Annigre, American walnut and bubinga. The wood veneers in this collection are saturated with a protective melamine resin and fused with phenolic resin-impregnated kraft sheets.

Abstracts: Available in a Corrugated finish with a 3-D feel, the Abstract decorative surface has grooves and ridges running along the panel. The Corrugated finish is available on popular panels in the Sandstorm and Paperform series, including: Barley Paperform, Sienna Paperform, Flax Paperform, Lunar Sandstorm, Celestial Sandstorm and Terrestrial Sandstorm. Suggested uses include vertical and light-duty applications.

Adding texture to any project can visually transform a room. Lamin-Arts’ latest products show the variety of ways decorative surfaces can be used in interior design.

“Just like our clients, Lamin-Art is always looking for ways to elevate commercial interior design,” said Stephanie Goudreu, marketing manager.
